OMG! Your 5 Go-To Natural Hair Styles when in College!

Hi my lovely readers!!

Omygosh day 3 of this awesome college girl series!!! Um, yes 3 in a row ya'll!

As a college student, I often have issues finding a hair style that will work for me. It can't only just work for my budget though, but also for my lazy days. You know what a lazy day is.... those days where you forgot to tie up your hair because you thought it'd be fine the next day. But it turned into a big bush! :(

Well I have a few solutions for those lazy days!

Mini Twists- You can just get up and go everyday, add a little bit of oil every few days and you are good.

I am doing fine!!

Hi my lovelies,

I know it has been a while, but I am doing well. Just living life as stress free as possible and relaxing on a daily basis. Putting out content is pretty tough when you are a full time student.

Some things just have to get put on the back burner and my blogging is it. I have so many posts I have in my mind for a few future post and I can't wait to share them. It's just right now it's hard, you have to be self motivated to write a blog post. And once that goes that's it. That's why I try to post as many times as I can when I get those inspiring thoughts.

But right now I am just like, eh, blogging can wait. There are tons of bloggers in the universe so a few more weeks of not seeing me won't make a dent in the atmosphere or shall I say blogosphere!!!! :)

Any hoo I'll catch up with ya'll as soon as I have the time.

XO, Pynkstarr

PS....Oh yea, I have a new IG that is open to the public for hair, beauty, etc it's @pynkstarrheartshair!!

I am currently in the process of transferring my photos now!

My umpteenth wash n go experience!

After watching so many videos this week, I kinda of wanted to try a wash n go style again :O!! I know??! Why would I do that again after trying it multiple times in the past and failing at it. But I come to realize it doesn't hurt to try again, plus if it comes out bad I could just wash it out.

Dry natural hair and what I am watching!

I honestly can not describe how dry my hair was the other day. I feel this is the driest I have ever felt my hair to be, esp after just 2 days AFTER washing it. I still can't understand why it felt the way it did.

What I've been up to?? My Self Development Journey

Helurr there. I know you all are like she's always on a new discovery of something. If not hair then self discovery. Which in my opinion there is nothing wrong with either. So lately I have been feeling like something was missing in my life. I have always believed that I am destined to do more. And this is with everything. I am in school now because I was told by God to do so. But every now and then I feel like I should be doing more. Like having a career in the field that I am supposed to be in. What I am in the process of learning now is that nothing is a complete waste of time. There is a reason for everything. Where ever you are right now is where you need to be, no matter how much you hate it. Believe it or not that is getting you where you need to be.

So that's where I was stuck at in my life. I don't necessarily need to know what's in store, but I needed to change what I was doing. Because obviously what ever I was doing wasn't enough. And that was another thing I was dealing with, I was praying a lot. So I felt like by looking for another way, outside of God, to help me was cheating. Crazy right. But everyone I'm sure goes through this at some point or another in their lives. When you're trying something new that is not seen as"Godly" then you shouldn't do it. Here is how I got out of this feeling. God sends people to us in many forms, whether it is a book, or a seminar they here to help us. There is always a reason that we are where we are at every moment. So who not but God could that right!? He put me in the right position to see a video to reawaken my desire. A BURNING DESIRE to be more than I am today.

As I am questioning all of these things I came across a video by Dulce Candy about self help books she's been reading. I've always read books like how-to or trying to find yourself. But I stopped because I felt they weren't working. Which now I know the reason they weren't working. I wasn't really applying the techniques everyday as I had learned to do. So here I am watching her vid on the book haul she made. And I am like really. Yes this is what I needed. Like a jump on things. That one video got the ball rolling for me to watch and read all of these things about the law of attraction and manifestation. I guess most people would consider me an artsy type of person. A free sprinted butterfly if you will. Since doing more research on self development these key words kept popping up (and continues to pop up): manifestation, desire, energy, gratitude, awareness, subconscious vs unconscious, focus, visualization, abundance, and attraction.

I have found so much information on everything above. Esp the law of attraction. I am also reading 3 books (two audio and 1 pdf): Think and grow rich by Napoleon Hill, Miracles now by Gabrielle Bernstein, and Creative Visualiztion by Shakti Gawain. All of these books tie into what I was looking for. And although I am not completely finished with them I can definitely say they are great for self development. I also recommend watching videos on youtube esp Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Chopra, Sammy Davis has really great videos. Or google the keys words from above. So far my has changed completely and I have noticed a different attitude in the way I think now versus the way I used to think. I am also getting back into meditation and Yoga.

The next few posts will be reviews and finds of the books I am reading/listening to. I can't wait to share my findings.

Manifestation is real!!

Hi ya'll. Omygosh two whole posts in one week. What a shocker. But no seriously I needed to get this out there to share. Isn't that what life's about, sharing. :). So yea for many years, maybe as far back as my childhood, I've "manifested" things into my life. How do I remember this you say? Well every boy I liked as a kid, rarely if ever really liked me back.

KinkyHair: I got my curls back after flatironing!!!

I was so happy when I washed my hair yesterday. My hair was in its straightened state for 3 weeks. Not sure how long is too long, but for me this was too long. I wanted to get my time, that I took to do this style, back. Which is why I really left it straight for so long.

How I straightened my kinkyhair: Week1 hair diary and the tips I came up with to protect my hair

Hey Lovelys.....I hope that all is well. I wanted to share my straightening regimen with you all before I forget what I did. Now I have never straightened my hair with a flat iron since going natural because I was scared. Scared that my hair won't revert back to my wonderful kinky curly hair. I love my kinks and wouldn't change them for the world. But I, like many other kinky curlies out there, like to try new things every now and then. I began to hate using the word "natural" to describe my hair because of how the community has become towards those of us who choose to: a)wear weave, wigs, extensions, dye our hair, flat iron, blow dry, not use all natural products. All of these things people judge you for because they think there is only one way to do something.

So like I said before, I love my kinky curly hair. But just like trying new things. Anything that I can do myself safely, I'll try it!!!

Here is what I did to get started:
